Kesantunan Berbahasa dalam Percakapan Siswa Kelas 8 SMPN 2 Sungai Kuruk 1 Seruway

Abstract

This research aims to describe the principles of language politeness in the conversations of Class 8 Students at SMPN 2 Sungai Kuruk 1 Seruway, and to determine the forms of language politeness of students in the conversations of Class 8 Students at SMPN 2 Sungai Kuruk 1 Seruway. This research uses data collection methods in the form of proficient free-involved listening techniques, recording techniques, note-taking techniques, as well as documentation and analyzing data by reducing data. The data for this research is in the form of speech that contains language politeness and is sourced from data from Class 8 Students of SMPN 2 Sungai Kuruk 1 Seruway. This research uses language politeness theory in the form of language politeness principles using a qualitative descriptive research method approach. The results of this research mostly use direct speech that sounds polite and there are principles of politeness in the conversations of Class 8 Students of SMPN 2 Sungai Kuruk 1 Seruway, namely that there are 6 maxims that are fulfilled, namely the maxim of wisdom, there are 5 conversations that are fulfilled, the maxim of generosity, there are 2 conversations that are fulfilled, there are 3 maxims of appreciation fulfilled, the maxim of simplicity there are 3 conversations that are fulfilled, the maxim of consensus there are 3 conversations that are fulfilled and the maxim of sympathy there are 6 conversations that are fulfilled and the most dominant one used for conversations of grade 8 students at SMPN 2 Sungai Kuruk 1 Seruway is the maxim sympathy there are 6 conversations that are fulfilled
