dc.description.abstract | DC-DC Converters are often used in various types of power systems, one of them is used to charger for energy storage, but the components in the converter can suffer losses that can be classified into 2 categories, that is switching loss and conduction loss, where both of them depend on the frequency, load current and time transition that occurs in the switch. Switching loss can be reduced or suppressed by applying soft-switching techniques. This study aims to reduce switching loss at the buck konverter by applying soft-switching techniques, that is Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) and Zero Current Switching (ZCS) in the open-loop system for 7charging. This simulations using MATLAB-Simulink to anaylize the effectiveness of ZVS and ZCS to reducing switching loss that occur in the buck converter. This simulations results show that the buck converter with ZVS produces 89,98 % efficiency with a 3,86 W of switching loss, while ZCS produces 93,91 % efficiency with a 2,258 W of switching loss. Compared to the conventional buck converter which only produces 86,38 % efficiency with a 6,47 W of switching loss. | en_US |
