dc.description.abstractThis research aims to discuss the contradictory language style and mandate in the lyrics of Feast's songs in Some People Forgive Album. The theory applied in this research is stylistic theory. Gorys Keraf states that there are six oppositional language styles, namely irony, cynicism, sarcasm, innuendo, satire, and antipharsis. This research aims to describe the contradictory language style and the mandate contained in the album Some People Forgive by Feast. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method with data collection technique using read-note technique. The data in this study are song lyrics in the album Beberapa Orang Memafkan. From the results of the research, six types of oppositional language styles were found, namely: (1) irony, (2) cynicism, (3) sarcasm, (4) innuendo, (5) satire, and (6) antipharsis. Furthermore, the mandate in this album found messages about social and political issues, ranging from the importance of education and culture, people's sovereignty, injustice, to oppression and intolerance.en_US
