Pembuatan Sabun Cair Anti Bakteri dari Minyak Kelapa dan KOH dengan Penambahan Ekstrak Sirih Hijau Dengan Kapasitas 38.000 Ton/Tahun
Production of Antibacterial Liquid Soap from Coconut Oil and KOH with the Addition of Green Betel Leaf Extract at a Capacity of 38,000 Tons/Year
Abstract
Skin disease is one of the health issues that are still often faced by the people of Indonesia. To prevent skin diseases caused by bacteria, the use of anti-bacterial shower gel can be one effective way. Coconut oil is one of the raw materials for soap that can be used based on its fatty acid content. Coconut oil has a high lauric acid content so it is efficacious as a natural antimicrobial. In addition, the content of saponin compounds owned by betel leaves can damage the cytoplasmic membrane and can work as an antimicrobial. This research uses the main raw material of coconut oil with variations in the concentration of green betel leaf extract which are 10%, 12% and 15% and variations in glycerin ratio concentrations of 1: 1, 1: 2 and 1: 3. Green betel leaf extract has been shown to potentially inhibit staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The value of moisture content in liquid soap in each concentration variation shows a range of values of 30 - 55%. The value of free alkali is 0.071% - 0.098%. The value of free fatty acids is 0.451 - 0.846%. The pH value is 7 – 10. The stability value of the foam is 69.5 - 77.8 %. It can be concluded that the use of coconut oil with betel leaf extract can be used as an alternative to making anti-bacterial shower gel
