This study aims to describe and analyze the social resilience of the Simangulampe Village community, Baktiraja District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency, following the landslide that occurred on December 1, 2023. The disaster caused significant physical, social, and economic impacts, including damage to homes and agricultural land, and loss of life. This study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method to explore the community's subjective experiences in responding to and recovering from the disaster. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation with six informants representing the community, the village government, and other relevant parties. The results showed that the community demonstrated a high level of social resilience through a spirit of mutual cooperation, close social interactions, and the ability to adapt to post-disaster conditions. In the context of Mikhail Shkolnik's social resilience theory, the Simangulampe Village community was able to build collective resilience despite facing limited resources and uncertainty. However, obstacles remained, such as uneven distribution of aid and slow economic recovery. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening social capital and community capacity in facing and recovering from natural disasters.
