    Abstract
Education is one of the important, inherent and necessary aspects of human life in order to improve the quality of life. The COVID-19 pandemic has put pressure on various fields such as economy, politics, social, culture, and education. The research method used is a descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used participatory observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. Research informants were determined using the purposive technique. The results showed that the learning process of SD Negeri 173331 Sopobutar students during the pandemic faced obstacles in the internet network, availability of gadgets, adaptation of smartphones and online learning applications, data package costs, activity restrictions, limited parental time, and distance between learning places. The role of parents in the learning process during the pandemic is as the main companion. Parents sacrifice energy, money and time to guide and teach their children. The role of accompanying teachers as motivators, innovators and evaluators during the pandemic. The role of the community during the pandemic is as a bridge for underprivileged parents, so that students can continue to learn. Post-pandemic, schools again play a big role in primary school students. Schools have an important role as a social institution that provides and provides about learning policies and student character education. Teachers have a great responsibility in preparing primary school students to behave and interact well in society.
