Peningkatan pertumbuhan dan Produksi Okra Hijau (Abelmoschus Esculentus L.) dengan Berbagai Sumber N Organik
Increasing the Growth and Production of Green Okra (Abelmoschus Esculentus L.) with Various Organic N Sources
Abstract
Functional vegetable that has many benefits, especially for health, such as green Okra which is high in fiber and good for people to consume. However, this plant is still foreign in Indonesia so that the production of this okra plant is still very low so that proper cultivation techniques are needed such as providing several types of compost as a source of N. The purpose of this study was to determine the growth and yield of okra plants by providing durian skin compost, coffee skin compost, baglog compost, water hyacinth and nitrogen fertilizer. This research was conducted on the land of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra, Medan with an altitude of ± 25 meters above sea level (masl) from July to November 2023, using a non-factorial Randomized Block Design with one treatment, namely by providing various sources of nitrogen: durian skin compost; 75 g / polybag; coffee skin compost: 75 g / polybag; baglog waste compost: 50 g / polybag; water hyacinth compost: 90 g / polybag and urea fertilizer: 1.25 g / polybag. The results of the study showed that the provision of various nitrogen sources had a significant effect on plant height at 2-15 weeks after planting (MST), number of leaves at 3-15 MST, number of branches at 6-15 MST, and the fresh crown weight of the best. The best treatment was K2 (75 g/polybag), and stem diameter. The best treatment was K4 (90 g/polybag).
