    Abstract
Risky sexual behavior remains a serious problem in Indonesia, especially among men who have a high vulnerability to sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV/AIDS. The high incidence of HIV among MSM places this group as a key population in efforts to tackle the HIV epidemic. Several factors are thought to contribute to risky sexual behavior, including parenting, media exposure, and peer group influence. This study is an analytic quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study was a group of men who have sex with men who visited and accessed PDP services at Helvetia Public Health Center Medan, totaling 478 people with a research sample of 68 MSM respondents selected using incidental sampling technique. Data analysis used univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. The results showed that factors significantly associated with risky sexual behavior were authoritarian parenting (p value = 0.018), media exposure (p value = 0.001), and peer group (p value = 0.016). While factors that have no relationship with risky sexual behavior are authoritative parenting (p value = 0.690) and permissive parenting (p value = 1.000). Multivariate test results showed that the media exposure variable was the most dominant factor with an Exp (B) value of 8.315. It is recommended that the government and related stakeholders can strengthen digital-based sexual health education programs, improve family counseling services, and provide educational services regarding the use of media wisely. Parents also need to apply balanced parenting and build open communication with children to prevent risky sexual behavior early on.
