Pemberian Berbagai Jenis Pupuk Organik Terhadap Pertumbuhan Rhizophora stylosa di Dusun IV Desa Pulau Sembilan, Kecamatan Pangkalan Susu Kabupaten Langkat

Abstract

Mangrove forests are degraded due to a combination of natural factors and increasing human activities. Natural factors such as coastal abrasion, rising sea levels, and climate change cause physical damage and reduce the natural regenerative ability of mangroves; therefore, planting is necessary. The planting method should be carried out to ensure good plant growth, and fertilization is needed, namely by providing manure to R. stylosa seedlings. This study aims to determine the effect on the growth of R. stylosa seedlings treated with cow manure, goat manure, chicken manure, quail manure, or no fertilizer. Fertilization has also been shown to increase leaf chlorophyll content, which directly affects the photosynthesis process, thereby enhancing plant growth efficiency. The study was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments and five replications. The results showed that treatment with fertilizer cow manure provides the best growth results compared to other treatments. The observed growth parameters include seedling height, stem diameter, number of leaves, fresh weight, dry weight, and leaf area. Seedlings given cow manure fertilizer had an average seedling height of 12.5 cm, stem diameter of 0.37 cm, 5.53 leaves, fresh weight of 33.74 g, dry weight of 11.22 g, and a leaf area of 19.62 cm². The conclusion of this study is that using cow manure fertilizer has the most significant effect on the growth of R. stylosa seedlings compared to other fertilizers.
