Pengaruh Bentuk yang Berbeda Terhadap Karakteristik Fisik Produk Ransum Ayam Kampung Fase Layer dengan Campuran Larva Black Soldier Fly
The Influence of Different Forms on the Physical Characteristic of Ration Products Layer Phase Native Chicken with a Mixture of Black Soldier Fly Larvae
Abstract
Black Soldier Fly larvae are one of the organisms that have high protein content. Black Soldier Fly larvae have great potential to be used as an alternative feed additive for livestock by processing them into in the form of mash, pellet, and crumble. This study aimed to determine the effect of different forms on the physical characteristics of layer phase native chicken ration products with a mixture of Black Soldier Fly larvae. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 6 replicates. The treatment used P1=ration with mash form; P2=ration with pellet form; P3=ration with crumble form. The parameters observed were water content, pile density, density of pile compaction, pile angle, and specific gravity. The result obtained the average water content of P1, P2, and P3 respectively (12.37%; 9.58%; 11.85%), pile density (0.55 g/cm3; 0.60 g/cm3; 0.59 g/cm3), pile compaction density (0.58 g/cm3; 0.76 g/cm3; 0.73 g/cm3), pile angle (29.71º; 22.23º; 22.64º), and specific gravity among others (1.46 g/cm3; 1.59 g/cm3; 1.55 g/cm3). Based on the result of this study, it was concluded that different forms had a very significant effect (P<0,01) on the physical characteristics of layer phase native chicken ration products with a mixture of Black Soldier Fly larvae. Treatment P2 (ration with pellet form) produced the best value of water content, pile density, pile compaction density, pile angle, and spesific gravity for storage purposes compared to treatment P1 (ration with mash form) and P3 (ration with crumble form).
