This study aims to determine the negative influence of peer attachment on online game addiction among adolescents. This study used a quantitative approach with a regression design. Data were collected using an online Likert-scale questionnaire from 273 adolescents aged 13–18 (M = 16.6, SD = 1.46) who actively played online games and were members of online gaming communities. Peer attachment was measured using the Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment (IPPA) by Armsden & Greenberg (1987) and has been adapted into Indonesian by Napitupulu and Rangkuti (2023), while online gaming addiction was measured using the Internet Gaming Disorder Scale (IGDS) by Lemmens et al. (2015), which has been adapted into Indonesian by Rangkuti et al. (2021). The data obtained were processed using a simple linear regression analysis test. The results showed a coefficient of determination of r² = 0.048 with a significance value of p< 0.001. These results indicate a significant negative effect of peer attachment on online gaming addiction in adolescents. This means that the higher the peer attachment, the lower the likelihood of online gaming addiction. Conversely, the lower the peer attachment, the higher the likelihood of online gaming addiction. These results also indicate that the level of influence is small.en_US
