    Abstract
Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which primarily affects the human lungs. This disease spreads through droplets from infected individuals, especially when they cough or sneeze. The airborne bacteria can be inhaled by healthy individuals, leading to infection. Treatment for TB requires a prolonged duration, often leading to boredom and non-adherence. Non-adherence to TB medication is a complex health care issue. Adherence is defined as the extent to which clients follow prescribed treatment recommendations. This senior practicum aimed to evaluate the medication adherence of clients undergoing pulmonary TB treatment. The case study method involved interviews focusing on communication, information, and education (CIE), which included explanations regarding usage instructions, indications, methods of administration, side effects, and the importance of adherence. The intervention was carried out at the Pulmonary TB Clinic of Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital in Medan, from May 10 to 21, 2025. The results indicated an improvement in clients' understanding of medication rules, with the expectation of better adherence to instructions. Based on the data, 60.0% of respondents answered "Yes" to understanding medication adherence, 30.0% answered "No," and 10.0% answered "Sometimes." These findings suggest that CIE plays a crucial role in improving TB clients' medication adherence and should be an integral part of holistic and integrated mursing care to promote recovery and reduce TB incidence.
