dc.description.abstractErosion is one of the problems that must be taken seriously in a watershed ecosystem.Besitang watershed is a watershed that requires special attention, especially the Besitang watershed because there is damage that must be restored.There are changes in land use and minimal public awareness of watershed conservation, which causes erosion.The main problem found is that oil palm trees are planted up to the riverbank which will have a negative impact such as minimal greening in the watershed which can make the river prone to erosion.This is caused by rainwater that is not properly absorbed so that it can cause flooding.This study aims to determine the level of erosion hazard that occurs in the Besitang watershed, Langkat Regency. The study uses secondary data in collecting research data and uses the USLE method in reviewing research data.After conducting the study, the results showed that the calculation of erosion using the USLE method and with the QGIS application, the erosion value was obtained as much as 1281,629tons/ha/year.The Tolerable Soil Loss (TSL) value obtained was 643,130.88 tons/year, which when compared to the erosion value gave an erosion index value of 0,00199.So it is concluded that the erosion that occurred in the Besitang DAS area as a whole is included in the low erosion hazard index.en_US
