This research Analyzes The Intrinsic Elements In The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. The study aims to identify and explain the intrinsic aspects of the movie, namely theme, plot, characters, setting, and point of view, using Marcel Danesi’s theory (2010). The qualitative descriptive method was applied, with the film serving as the primary data source. The findings reveal that the movie presents the theme of self-discovery and the meaning of life through Walter Mitty’s transformation. The plot follows a classical structure of exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. The characterization highlights Walter as a dreamer who evolves into a courageous man, supported by other characters such as Cheryl Melhoff, Ted Hendrick, and Sean O’Connell. The settings span New York, Greenland, Iceland, Afghanistan, and the Himalayas, reinforcing the adventurous journey. The point of view is mainly third person but occasionally shifts to Walter’s perspective. This study concludes that the intrinsic elements collectively build a strong inspirational message, encouraging audiences to pursue courage, meaning, and self-fulfillment.
