Analisis Semantik pada Kumpulan Puisi Alam Karya Xue Tao dalam Buku Brocade River Poems

Abstract

Classical Chinese poetry, as part of literary heritage, is a literary work that uses language as a medium to convey ideas, feelings, and moods in an aesthetic and meaningful way. The meaning contained in poetry is studied based on the field of linguistics, namely semantics, which is a study that focuses on the meaning of language. This study examines nature poems by Xue Tao collected in the book Brocade River Poems. Xue Tao was one of the famous female poets of the Tang Dynasty. The purpose of this study is to analyze the lexical meaning, denotative meaning, and connotative meaning contained in these poems. The method used is a qualitative research method with a literature study approach. The results show that the lexical meanings analyzed refer to the meanings of words according to the Chinese-Indonesian dictionary and the Modern Mandarin Dictionary. From the analysis of Xue Tao's nature poems, it was found that 22 data contained denotative meanings, which are straightforward and literal meanings, while 20 data contained connotative meanings, which are symbolic, figurative, and reflect emotions and cultural contexts. It can be concluded that Xue Tao's nature poems not only describe the beauty of nature descriptively, but also combine natural elements with emotional expressions in a richly symbolic form.
