Indonesia is an agricultural country with abundant biomass energy
sources, one of which is cassava. Sawdust waste is one such abundant and
underutilized material. Biobriquettes are lumps of charcoal made from organic
waste charcoal powder, molded and used as an alternative fuel to petroleum. This
study used the ANOVA test method and Duncan Multiple Range Post Hoc Test
with a significance level of 0,05 and 0,01. The test parameters were moisture
content, density, combustion rate, ash content, calorific value, and flame. The
results showed that the characteristics of the charcoal briquettes had a significant
effect on moisture content and combustion rate, a significant effect on density, calorific value, and flame, and no significant effect on ash content. Duncan's
further test results showed that the composition of 25% cassava stem charcoal
briquettes and 75% durian sawdust (P4) was the best raw material composition
because it was at the highest variable in 3 stages of testing including density
(1.548 gr/cm3 ), combustion rate (0.279 gr/minute) and flame (114 minutes). The
analysis results showed that it met SNI in terms of calorific value, density and ash
content.
