| dc.description.abstract | The problem in this study is to discuss the semiotic code contained in the lyrics of the song ياحبيبة يافلسطين /yā ḥabībah yā falasṭīn/. This study aims to describe five semiotic codes, namely hermeneutic code (HER), semic code (SEM), symbolic code (SIM), proaretic code or narrative action code (AKS), and cultural code or referential code (REF) using Roland Barthes' theory. This research is library research using descriptive-qualitative research methods. The results of this study show the discovery of two hermeneutic code terms, namely the term theming and the term partial answer, the semic code found four data, the symbolic code found four data, the proaretic code found seven data, and the cultural code found three data. The conclusion of this study is that the use of Roland Barthes' five semiotic codes in analyzing song lyrics helps to reveal the meaning hidden behind the words. Each code has a function: hermeneutic codes contain riddles, semic codes indicate implied meanings, symbolic codes convey meaning through symbols, proaretic codes describe actions, and cultural codes connect with general knowledge and cultural values, so that song lyrics can be understood more deeply, not only in terms of sound but also in terms of meaning, message, and cultural context. | en_US |
