Analisis Perayaan Onsen Beppu Hatto Matsuri di Jepang

Abstract

This research discusses the celebration of the Beppu Hatto Onsen Matsuri which is one of the spring festivals in Beppu, Japan. The Matsuri begins with the Ougiyama no Hi Matsuri religious ritual and closes with the YU.Bukkake Matsuri celebration. The purpose of this research is to know and describe the performance and identify local wisdom in the celebration of Onsen Beppu Hatto Matsuri. This research uses culture theory, performance theory, and local wisdom theory. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques used observation and documentation methods. The data collected are primary data such as photos and videos obtained during the implementation of the Onsen Beppu Hatto Matsuri and secondary data taken from several journals on the internet. The result of this research is that Onsen Beppu Hatto Matsuri is a festival that combines religious rituals and folk entertainment in three main series. The festival reflects the local wisdom of the Beppu people through the harmonious relationship between humans and each other, nature, and the gods. Every procession and symbol used, such as the sacred fire and onsen water, shows cultural values, spirituality, and social solidarity that are still alive and preserved today.
