This study aimed to determine the concentration of heavy metals in the water and sediment of the Deli Estuary, Medan City, North Sumatra. The study was conducted over a one-day period using purposive sampling and then identified in the laboratory of the Environmental Health Engineering Center. The results showed that the heavy metals cadmium, mercury, and lead in the estuary's water and sediment were categorized as moderately polluted. Water quality parameters (temperature, pH, DO, salinity) were within the optimal range throughout the study. The heavy metal content in the water and sediment indicates that the Deli Estuary is polluted, which could result in environmental damage.en_US
