Analysis of Arabic Listening (Istima’) Proficiency Level Among Students of Amaliyah Sunggal Private Islamic Senior High School
Abstract
This Study Examines The Level Of Arabic Istima’ (Listening) Proficiency Among
Students At MAS Amaliyah Sunggal. The Research Aims To Determine The Listening
Ability Of 11th Grade Students By Using Audio Media Containing 20 Arabic Mufradat
(Vocabulary Items) That Are Taught In Class. This Study Employs The Istima’ Theory
Proposed By Hamid. It Is A Descriptive Qualitative Study With Data Collected
Through Observation, Questionnaires, Interviews, And Documentation. The Results
Show That Out Of 30 Respondents From The 11th Grade Of MAS Amaliyah Sunggal,
8 Students (Five Male And Three Female) Achieved Excellent Scores; 5 Students (Two
Male And Three Female) Achieved Good Scores; 6 Students (Four Male And Two
Female) Achieved Fair Scores; And 11 Students (Six Male And Five Female) Obtained
Poor Scores. The Conclusion Of This Study Indicates That The Students’ Mastery Of
Vocabulary Cannot Yet Be Considered Good. Therefore, Further Learning Efforts And
Remedial Programs Are Needed To Improve Students’ Ability To Understand And
Master Vocabulary More Effectively.
