Abstract

Breast cancer is a major health problem both globally and in Indonesia. It is among the most aggressive diseases and a leading cause of death among women worldwide. One of the efforts to reduce the incidence and mortality of breast cancer is by practicing Breast Self-Examination (BSE). BSE can be performed by every woman independently to detect early abnormalities in the breast. The purpose of this senior practicum was to implement nursing care management for women of childbearing age through early detection of breast cancer using BSE in Dusun II Parsingkaman, Pagaran Lambung 1 Village, Adiankoting Subdistrict. The methods used in this activity included health education and training on BSE techniques using leaflets. Activities involved conducting pre-tests and post-tests to assess the knowledge level of women regarding BSE. The results of the pre-test showed that all five clients (100.0%) had low knowledge about BSE, while post-test results indicated that all five clients (100.0%) showed improved knowledge. The nursing care management implemented for five women of childbearing age showed increased knowledge about BSE, improved early detection of breast cancer, and enhanced ability to perform the six correct steps of BSE properly. It is recommended that women of childbearing age be confident and routinely perform monthly BSE to prevent breast cancer.
