    Abstract
Sheep are a potential source of animal protein, but their productivity is often hampered by limited green fodder, especially during the dry season. Cassava stems and leaves can be used as alternative feed, although they contain crude fiber and antinutrients such as HCN and tannins. Fermentation through silage making with the addition of probiotics, such as EM4, is expected to reduce antinutrient content and improve feed quality. This study aims to examine the effect of fermented cassava stem and leaf silage with a combination of probiotics on the performance of local rams. This research method uses a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. Treatments given P0: Stems and leaves of cassava without fermentation 5% of body weight, P1: Stems and leaves of fermented cassava (EM4 20 ml, NASA 10 ml, MOL 20 ml) 5% of body weight, P2: Stems and leaves of fermented cassava (EM4 10 ml, NASA 20 ml, MOL 20 ml) 5% of body weight, and P3: Stems and leaves of fermented cassava (EM4 20 ml, NASA 20 ml, MOL 10 ml) 5% of body weight. The parameters observed were feed consumption, body weight gain, and feed conversion. The results showed that the provision of fermented cassava stems and leaves (Manihot esculenta sp) with a combination of various types of probiotics had no significant effect (P>0.05) on feed consumption, daily body weight gain, or feed conversion. The highest average feed consumption was found in P2 (1906.79 ± 161.43 g/head/day), the highest daily weight gain was found in P0 (178.49 ± 23.92 g/head/day), and the best feed conversion was found in P3 (14.62 ± 5.04).
