    Abstract
Delaying marriage (waithood) is a conscious decision taken by women, especially the millennial generation, to delay establishing a household. This research was conducted in Sei Rotan Village, a village administrative area that socially shows a semi-urban character. Most of the people have activities in the city, giving rise to a more urban mindset and lifestyle. A preliminary survey of millennial women born 1981-1995 in Sei Rotan Village showed that there were 3 women who were unmarried and decided to postpone marriage. There is a common view between the three of them that postponing marriage is a decision based on careful consideration, such as mental-financial readiness and self-development. This study aims to analyse millennial women's views on postponing marriage, identify the causes behind the decision, and understand the impact felt by women who postpone marriage in Sei Rattan Village. This type of research is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Informants totalled 6 millennial women, divided into two groups, namely 3 women who were unmarried and postponed marriage and 3 women who were married but had postponed marriage. The data collection technique used purposive sampling and in-depth interviews. The results showed that millennial women's views on postponing marriage in Sei Rotan Village tend to be positive, considering it a phase to achieve maturity and self and financial independence. The main reasons for postponing marriage for millennial women in Sei Rotan Village include the role of sandwich generation, focus on continuing education and career, trauma due to family conflict, and family gender inequality. The impacts that occur are complex, consisting of positive impacts such as more freedom and happiness to negative impacts such as anxiety and regret. In terms of reproductive health, there are menstrual cycle disorders and the risk of pregnancy in old age, including cases of miscarriage and anaemia. It is hoped that the results of this study can reduce community stigma towards women who delay marriage and provide reproductive health counselling and education services that are appropriate to their needs.
