Klasifikasi Emosi Tokoh Kinan dalam Novel Layangan Putus Karya Mommy Asf: Kajian Psikologi Sastra

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the classification of emotions experienced by the character Kinan, in Mommy ASF’s novel Layangan Putus using Daniel Goleman’s theory of emotions. The research seeks to indentify the various forms of emotions felt by the protagonist and the factors influencing their emergence whitin the context of her domestic life. This study is significant because it illustrates how a woman’s emotional conflicts can be analyzed through the perspective of literary psychology approach. The data were obtained through intensive reading of the novel and analyzed to identify emotional expressions that appear in each important event experienced by the main character. The result show that Kinan experiences eight types of emotions, anger, sadness, fear, pleasure, love, surprise, irritation, and shame. Among these, anger and sadness are the dominant emotions that arise due to marital conflict and betrayal experience by the protagonist
