| dc.description.abstract | Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that remains a health problem in
Indonesia, including in Medan. The Public-Private Mix (PPM) is a strategy that
involves all healthcare facilities, both public and private, in TB control to improve
case detection and treatment success. This study aims to analyze the
implementation of the PPM program in TB control in Medan City in 2024. The
study used qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach. Data were
collected through in-depth interviews and documentation at the Medan Area
Selatan Community Health Center, Mega Mas Clinic, and the Medan City Health
Office. The research results indicate that the implementation of Community Health
Program (PPM) in Medan City has not been optimal. The DPPM Team has been
established, but its effectiveness is limited due to limited funding. The PPM work
plan in Medan City relies heavily on support from NGOs or external sponsors, so
program implementation is not fully independent. Collaboration between
community health centers (Puskesmas) and private health facilities has been
successful in logistics, laboratory testing, and TB case reporting. However,
obstacles remain, such as limited resources and funding, and low commitment from
some private health facilities in reporting TB cases. This study concludes that
strengthening commitment and resource support from the local government, as well
as improved coordination between all relevant parties, is needed to optimize the
implementation of PPM in TB control in Medan City. | en_US |
