Analisis Pengembangan Usaha Pengelolaan Perhutanan Sosial di KPH Wilayah I Stabat Kabupaten Langkat
Analysis of Social Forestry Management Business Development in KPH Wilayah I Stabat Langkat Regency
Abstract
KPH Wilayah I Stabat Langkat Regency has 29 Social Forestry Groups (KPS) that have
successfully carried out mangrove forest rehabilitation activities covering an area of
3436 ha in 2021. However, the development of social forestry businesses has not been
managed optimally as seen from the low interest of KPS in developing Social Forestry
Business Groups (KUPS). The development of social forestry management businesses in
KPH Region I Stabat, Langkat Regency has challenges such as minimal market access,
limited capital, and lack of technical assistance still hampering the management of
these businesses. This study aims to analyze the business model applied by KPS to the
KUPS owned using the Business Model Canvas (BMC) approach and evaluate the
financial feasibility of the business using the Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR). The study was
conducted in four KPS: KPS KSU Bahagia Keluarga Bahari (clam cultivation), KPS
KTH Mekar (mangrove ecotourism), KPS KT Peduli Pesisir (mangrove ecotourism),
and KPS LPHD Pasar Rawa (coconut cultivation). Data were obtained through
observation, interviews, and literature studies with a descriptive analysis approach.
The results of the study showed that all businesses had a BCR value> 1, which indicates
that the business activities to be developed are financially feasible. The BMC analysis
shows several aspects that need to be improved by the group in developing the business
so that a strategy is needed to create a better product value proposition through
product diversification, strengthening partnerships, and optimizing digital marketing to
improve business efficiency and sustainability. Thus, the management of social forestry
businesses in KPH Wilayah I Stabat has good prospects, but requires further support in
terms of capital, market access, and human resource capacity development.
