    Abstract
Houseflies are one of the disease vectors that carry pathogens through mechanical contamination. The use of natural insecticides is an environmentally friendly alternative for vector control because they are biodegradable and have minimal impact on the environment. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of a combination of fragrant pandan leaf (Pandanus amaryllifolius) and papaya leaf (Carica papaya) extracts as a bioinsecticide against houseflies (Musca domestica). This study employs a quantitative approach using a true experiment method with a post-test only control design. The sample in this study consisted of 240 houseflies, with 10 flies in each test cage, and treated with extract concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80%, a negative control (ethanol), and a positive control (pirimiphos-methyl). The experiment was repeated four times, with exposure durations of 1 hour for a total of 4 hours. The results of this study showed that the lowest mortality rate of houseflies after the use of the bioinsecticide was 17.5% (1 test fly) at a concentration of 20%, while the highest mortality rate occurred at a concentration of 80%, with 90% (9 test flies). The results of the one-way anova data analysis yielded a p-value = 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference among the treatments. The Post Hoc test results showed that the 80% concentration did not differ significantly from the positive control, indicating its potensial as an alternative to synthetic insecticides (pirimiphos-methyl). The probit test results showed that the estimated Lethal Concentration (LC50) for frgarant pandan leaf extract and papaya leaf extract was at concentration of 46.469%. It is expected that the results of this study can serve as a basis for the development of effective, safe, and environmentally friendly natural bioinsecticides as an alternative to synthetic insecticides in controlling houseflies.
