    Abstract
    Hypertension shows an increasing trend of cases from time to time in Indonesia. According to the Indonesian Health Survey (IHS) in 2023, the prevalence of hypertension in the population aged ≥18 years based on blood pressure measurements is 30.8 percent. This program is designed for the promotion and prevention of hypertension. Still, of the 286 Posbindu PTM, there are only 45 percent active, and the coverage of early detection of hypertension is 34.8 percent, and DM disease is 3.8 percent. The research aims to strategize the role of Si'ulu-Si'ila and religious leaders in preventing hypertension in Hilinawalo Mazino Village, South Nias Regency. This research is a Qualitative study type of Participatory Action Research (PAR). The results of the study are Prevention of hypertension carried out in Village consists of taking chemical drugs as a prevention of hypertension; drinking boiled water of benalu and soursop leaves; doing traditional massages by special therapists who are believed to reduce cholesterol and diabetes mellitus; and physical activity through gardening. Community perceptions of hypertension and its prevention in Village consist of hypertension is a disease from people (witchcraft); The role of Si'ulu and Si'ila in the prevention of hypertension in Hilinawalo Mazino Village is a role with the power of legitimacy and charisma; role as a social mediator/companion; role as a cultural educator; role as a social role model for the community; The role of religious leaders in the prevention of hypertension in Hilinawalo Mazino Village is a role as a spiritual advisor; role as a role model for the congregation; and role as an educator. The existence of a complementary approach based on local wisdom in the prevention and treatment of hypertension, the ability of indigenous leadership organizers in the prevention of hypertension and the prevention of hypertension through a Bible verse understanding approach.
