Oyster mushroom cultivation required stable temperature and humidity
conditions to support healthy growth and productivity. However, fluctuating
environmental conditions often became an obstacle in traditional cultivation
practices. This study aimed to implement a manual humidification technology
based on a Mistmaker combined with a Peltier cooler in order to create a suitable
microclimate for oyster mushroom growth. The method used was an experimental
approach by comparing the mushroom house conditions with and without the
humidification system. The results showed that the use of the Mistmaker
significantly increased the chamber humidity and also reduced the average
temperature. Electrical power consumption in the condition without the
Mistmaker remained stable, whereas in the condition with the Mistmaker it
increased due to additional load. The independent sample t-test indicated a
significant difference (p < 0. 05) between both treatments. The use of the
Mistmaker proved to create more controlled conditions compared to traditional
methods, thereby supporting better fruiting body development of oyster
mushrooms.
