Analisis Makna Kontekstual Kata اَصْحاب / Aṣḥābun/ dalam Al-Qur'an

Abstract

This study discusses the contextual meaning of the word اَصْحاب / aṣḥābun / in the Qur’an. The purpose of this research is to identify the contextual meanings contained in the word اَصْحاب / aṣḥābun / in Al-Qur’an Tajwid dan Terjemahan Al-Karim published by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (2009), using Matsna’s theory of contextual meaning as the main framework and Kholison’s theory of contextual meaning as a supporting framework. This research employs a qualitative method with data collection techniques through documentation analysis. The results of this study reveal that the word اَصْحاب / aṣḥābun / appears 70 times in the Qur’an, spread across 37 surahs, with diverse contextual meanings depending on the context of each verse. The contextual meanings of اَصْحاب / aṣḥābun / include friend, inhabitant, owner, guardian, follower, resident, army, group, and people. Furthermore, the study identifies the presence of linguistic, emotional, situational, and cultural contexts influencing the meanings of the word اَصْحاب / aṣḥābun / in the Qur’an.
