Analisis Kadar Ureum Pre dan Post Hemodialisis pada Pasien Penyakit Ginjal Kronik di RS Prof. dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Tahun 2024
Analysis of Pre and Post Hemodialysis Urea Levels in Chronic Kidney Disease Patients at Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital in 2024
Abstract
Background. Chronic kidney disease is a global health problem characterized by
a progressive and irreversible decline in renal function. Hemodialysis is the main
renal replacement therapy used to maintain biochemical balance in the body. One
of the main indicators of hemodialysis adequacy is the reduction of blood urea
levels. Aim. This study aimed to analyze the differences in blood urea levels before
and after hemodialysis in patients with chronic kidney disease. Method. This was
an analytical study using a retrospective cohort design based on medical records
of 60 patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing regular hemodialysis at Prof.
dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Universitas Sumatera Utara Hospital, Universitas
Sumatera Utara, Medan, 20155, INDONESIA in 2024. Samples were obtained
using a simple random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the paired
sample t-test to compare pre and post hemodialysis urea levels. Results. The mean
blood urea level before hemodialysis was 156.45 ± 33.94 mg/dL, which decreased
to 41.81 ± 16.30 mg/dL after hemodialysis, with a mean urea reduction rate of 73.35
± 8.87%. The paired sample t-test showed a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating
a significant difference between urea levels before and after hemodialysis.
Conclusion. There was a significant reduction in blood urea levels after
hemodialysis, indicating that the hemodialysis procedure at Prof. Dr. Chairuddin
P. Lubis Hospital, Medan, was effective in eliminating urea from patients with
chronic kidney disease.
