Analisis Kepribadian Tokoh Dalam Syair رَغْبَةُ عَبْدٍ فِيْ عَفْوِ اللَّهِ /Ragbatu Abdin FiAfwillahi / Karya Imam Syafi’i

Abstract

This research analyzes the poem رَغَبَةُ عَبْدٍ فِيْ عَفْوِ اللَّهِ /Ragbatu 'Abdin Fī 'Afwillahi/ by Imam Syafi’i. The purpose of this study is to describe the personality structure of the character in the poem رَغَبَةُ عَبْدٍ فِيْ عَفْوِ اللَّهِ /Ragbatu 'Abdin Fī 'Afwillahi/ by Imam Syafi’i. This is a library research using a qualitative research method. The data of the study consist of textual elements in the form of sentences taken from the poem رَغَبَةُ عَبْدٍ فِيْ عَفْوِ اللَّهِ /Ragbatu 'Abdin Fī 'Afwillahi/ by Imam Syafi’i. The primary data source is the poem as presented in the book “Syarah Diwan Imam Asy-Syafi‘i”. This research employs a literary psychology approach based on Sigmund Freud’s (1923) theory of personality structure, which includes the id, ego, and superego. The findings show that among the three personality structures, only two ego and superego are present in the poem, while the id is not identified. A total of 13 ego structures and 17 superego structures were found. The study concludes that the character of the “servant of Allah” in the poem رَغَبَةُ عَبْدٍ فِيْ عَفْوِ اللَّهِ /Ragbatu 'Abdin Fī 'Afwillahi/ by Imam Syafi’i predominantly demonstrates spiritual tendencies, self-control, and moral awareness, making the ego and superego more prominent than the id.
