However, batteries contain heavy metals such as lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), and chromium (Cr), which can negatively impact the environment and cause health problems, including kidney dysfunction, nervous system damage, and decreased cognitive ability. Aim. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of the community in the environment of Salsabila Islamic Private Elementary School, Medan Marelan District, Medan City, regarding the health impacts of heavy metals contained in batteries.
