dc.description.abstractCabbage (Brassica oleracea L.) is a vegetable rich in vitamins such as vitamin A 200 IU, B 20 IU, and C 120 IU, which play a very important role in health. This research aims to determine the effect of various planting distances and chicken manure application on the growth and yield of cabbage plants. This research was conducted in Huta Raja, Purba District, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra, at an altitude of ± 1142 meters above sea level (masl) at coordinates 2°56'16"E and 98°45'13"S, from February to June 2025. This research uses a factorial Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) consisting of 2 treatment factors and 3 replications. The first factor is various planting distances: 50 x 50 cm, 50 x 40 cm, 40 x 40 cm. The second factor is the dose of chicken manure: 0, 15, 30, 45 tons/ha. Planting distance treatments did not significantly affect all observed parameters of cabbage. Chicken manure doses up to 45 tons/ha significantly increased plant height at 4 and 5 WAP and the number of cabbage leaves at 3-5 WAP. Although not significantly affected, chicken manure doses up to 45 tons tended to increase all cabbage plant parameters. The interaction between planting distance and chicken manure had no significant effect on all observed parameters of cabbage plants.en_US
