    Abstract
Background. Abnormal Uterine Bleeding (AUB) is one of the most common gynecological complaints among reproductive-aged women, potentially leading to anemia and reduced quality of life. Objective. This study aims to analyze the occurrence of AUB at Prof. dr. Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis Universitas Sumatera Utara Hospital, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan 20155, INDONESIA during 2020–2025 based on patient characteristics, including age, BMI, parity, contraceptive use, history of BOH, and degree of anemia. Methods. This observational study used a cross-sectional design with secondary data from medical records involving 111 cases that met the inclusion criteria. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with the Chi-Square test and Monte Carlo correction. Results and Discussion. The most common type of AUB was AUB-M, accounting for 35 cases (31.5%). Most patients were aged ≥41 years (55.9%), had obesity (40.5%), and were multiparous (50.5%). A significant association was found between AUB and age (p = 0.022) as well as degree of anemia (p = 0.004). Meanwhile, BMI, parity, contraceptive use, and history of BOH showed no significant relationship with AUB. These findings indicate that age and anemia severity play important roles in the occurrence of AUB. Conclusion. AUB is more frequently observed among older women and is associated with increased anemia severity, whereas factors such as BMI, parity, contraceptive use, and history of BOH do not show significant influence
