    Abstract
Biofilm is a thin film made from a biopolymer or natural material which has the potential as an edible film. This research aims to make biofilms based on carboxymethylcellulose and bacterial cellulose with glycerol as a plasticizer. The research was performed ex situ, which is after bacterial cellulose is formed from the fermentation of kombucha tea. The research steps included culturing bacterial cellulose in kombucha tea, determining the optimum CMC-BC ratio variation, preparation of CMC-BC-Glycerol biofilm, and characterization consisting of solubility test, tensile test, toxicity test, and thermal stability test with TGA. The homogeneity test results showed that the CMC-BC film with 10% dry BC was the most optimum CMC-BC ratio variation. Based on the results of characterization, it was found that the CMC-BC-Glycerol biofilm can be categorized as non-toxic to Zophobas morio larvae with a mortality percent of 20% and is quite thermally stable with a high final film residue value (35.969%) through thermal stability testing with TGA. CMC-BC-Glycerol biofilm with 7.5% glycerol treatment is the best concentration variation based on the percent solubility (±77%), tensile strength value (4.8146 MPa), and percent elongation (3.84%).
