This study aims to examine the relationship between death anxiety and prosocial behavior among individuals with coronary heart disease (CHD). Coronary heart disease is a chronic condition often associated with heightened death anxiety due to increased health risks and various physical and psychological limitations. According to Terror Management Theory, death anxiety can motivate individuals to engage in positive behaviors such as prosocial actions. This research employed a quantitative approach with a total of 121 respondents selected through accidental sampling in Medan City. The instruments used were the Prosocialness Scale for Adults (PSA) and the Death Anxiety Scale (DAS), both of which had been adapted into Indonesian. Data were analyzed using Spearman Rank correlation. The results indicated that the relationship between death anxiety and prosocial behavior was not significant (p > 0.05). However, several aspects of the two variables demonstrated significant correlations. The Physical Alteration aspect was significantly related to Empathizing with Their Feeling, while the Awareness of Time aspect showed significant relationships with both Helping and Empathizing with Their Feeling. These findings suggest that, although the overall relationship between the variables was not significant, certain dimensions of death anxiety may influence specific forms of prosocial behavior.
