    Abstract
Adolescents from broken homes are at risk of experiencing various psychological problems, including a decrease in psychological well-being. One factor that may enhance psychological well-being among adolescents from broken homes is self-compassion, which refers to the ability to treat oneself with kindness in times of difficulty. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-compassion and psychological well-being among adolescents from broken homes in Kabanjahe City. The research employed a quantitative correlational design using the Pearson Product Moment analysis. The sample consisted of 123 adolescents from broken homes aged 14–21 years, selected through accidental sampling. The instruments used were the Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being Scale adapted by Fadhil (2021) and the Self-Compassion Scale adapted by Sugianto (2020). The results showed a significant positive correlation between self-compassion and psychological well-being (r = 0.921; p < 0.001). This finding indicates that the higher the level of self-compassion among adolescents from broken homes, the higher their level of psychological well-being. Furthermore, adolescents aged 14–16 years and those living with guardians such as grandparents, uncles, or aunts demonstrated higher levels of psychological well-being compared to other age groups. The results highlight the importance of fostering self-compassion as an effort to enhance psychological well-being among adolescents from broken homes.
