Pengaruh Kecerdasan Emosional dan Kecerdasan Spiritual terhadap Kinerja Karyawan di Hotel Madani Medan
The Effect of Emotional Intelligence and Spiritual Intelligence on Employee Performance at Hotel Madani Medan
Abstract
Employee performance is the result of an individual’s ability to meet job demands,
organizational standards, and social interactions in the workplace. Theoretically,
performance is not only determined by technical competence, but also by
psychological factors such as emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence,
which enable individuals to understand themselves, interact effectively with others,
and act according to the values they believe in. This study aims to examine the
influence of emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence on employee
performance at Hotel Madani Medan. Data were collected from 62 employees aged
20–59 years using three measurement instruments: emotional intelligence scale,
spiritual intelligence scale, and employee performance scale. Regression analysis
showed that both independent variables had a significant effect, either partially or
simultaneously, on performance. These results indicate that higher levels of
emotional and spiritual intelligence are associated with more effective work
performance. The findings support the notion that internal psychological factors not
only shape how individuals respond to job demands but also determine how they
maintain professional attitudes within a dynamic work environment. Therefore,
emotional and spiritual intelligence can be positioned as relevant psychological
resources for employees at Hotel Madani Medan, as they strengthen commitment,
responsibility, and consistent work behavior, ultimately contributing to improved
overall employee performance
