This study examined the effect of trait mindfulness on subjective well-being among retired civil servants in Pematangsiantar City. Trait mindfulness refers to an individual’s tendency to be aware of present experiences with openness and acceptance, while subjective well-being comprises life satisfaction, positive affect, and negative affect. A quantitative correlational design was employed with a sample of 111 retired civil servants selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected using the five facet mindfulness questionnaire, the satisfaction with ife scale, and the positive and negative affect schedule, and analyzed using simple linear regression. The results indicated that trait mindfulness had a positive and significant effect on subjective well-being (R = 0.926; R² = 0.857; p < 0.001), suggesting that higher trait mindfulness is associated with higher subjective well-being among retired civil servants.
