This study aimed to examine the influence of gratitude on mindful parenting by considering emotion regulation strategies as mediating variables. The study was motivated by the complex challenges faced by mothers of children with down syndrome, as children with down syndrome commonly experience delays in motor, cognitive, and socio-emotional development, thereby requiring mindful parenting. A quantitative research design was employed with 111 respondents. The research instruments included the Interpersonal Mindfulness in Parenting Scale (IM-P), the Indonesian version of the Gratitude Scale (SBI), and the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ). Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with bootstrapping procedures through SmartPLS. The results indicated that gratitude had a significant effect on mindful parenting through emotion regulation in the form of cognitive reappraisal (β = .128; t = 2.121; p = .034), but not through emotion regulation in the form of expressive suppression (β = .027; t = .963; p = .336), among mothers of children with down syndrome.en_US
