| dc.description.abstract | Animal feed is a crucial component in the livestock industry. Palm kernel expeller (PKE) and corn cobs can be utilized as raw materials for feed through fermentation using Aspergillus oryzae to enhance their nutritional value. The increasing domestic demand for animal feed still heavily relies on imports. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a feed mill using PKE and corn cobs with a capacity of 500,000 tons per year to meet domestic needs. The main processes in this preliminary plant design consist of three stages: raw material preparation, fermentation, and pellet formation. The plant is planned to be located in the Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone (KEK), Jl. Kelapa Sawit, Bosar Maligas Subdistrict, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra, with a total land area of 19,252.8 m² and requiring 437 workers. The business entity will be a limited liability company (PT) led by a president director with a line and staff organizational structure. The establishment and operation of the plant require an investment capital of Rp29,681,152,969,495.90 and production costs of Rp25,261,068,643,582, with sales revenue of Rp29,991,359,851,200, resulting in a net profit of Rp4,834,101,596,944. Based on economic analysis, the plant has a Profit Margin (PM) of 15.77%; Break-Even Point (BEP) of 42%; Return on Investment (ROI) of 12.9%; Return on Net Assets (RON) of 21.45%; and Payback Period (POT) of 93 months. Based on the economic analysis results, it can be concluded that this plant is feasible to establish. | en_US |
