Plastic waste has become a serious threat to the environment. Much of it remains in the environment due to suboptimal recycling processes. In Indonesia, the very high level of plastic consumption makes this country one of the world's largest producers of plastic waste. The properties of plastic that are difficult to decompose naturally, such as elasticity, lightness, and strength, cause long-term detrimental impacts on the environment and living things. To address this problem, the development of bioplastics is a promising solution. This study aims to analyze the biodegradation rate of rubber seed starch-based bioplastics in podzolic and organosol soil media and to determine the biodegradation time of rubber seed starch-based bioplastics in podzolic and organosol soil media. In this study, two variations were used in each media: aerobic and anaerobic conditions. The research results showed that rubber seed starch-based bioplastics decomposed more rapidly in organosol soil than in podzolic soil. Furthermore, the decomposition process was faster under anaerobic conditions than aerobic conditions in both soil types, with the highest average biodegradation rate in organosol soil under anaerobic conditions. Meanwhile, the lowest biodegradation rate was in podzolic soil under aerobic conditions.en_US
