This study aimed to examine the effect of resilience on psychological well-being mediated by self-esteem among emerging adults who have experienced ACEs. Participants were selected using a purposive sampling method, involving 167 emerging adult respondents residing in Medan City with a history of ACEs. Data were collected using resilience, self-esteem, and psychological well-being scales. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with a mediation model. The results indicated that resilience had a positive and significant effect on self-esteem, and self-esteem had a positive and significant effect on psychological well-being. Furthermore, self-esteem was found to serve as a significant full mediator in the relationship between resilience and psychological well-being, with an indirect effect size of 42.5%. These findings highlight the critical role of self-esteem as a psychological mechanism through which resilience contributes to psychological well-being among emerging adults with adverse childhood experiences.en_US
