Introduction: Twin pregnancy is a condition in which two or more fetuses develop simultaneously in the uterus, resulting in a higher obstetric risk compared to singleton pregnancies. The characteristics of twin pregnancies can be viewed from maternal factors such as maternal age at pregnancy, parity, and family history, as well as fetal factors including gestational age, birth weight, and sex. Objective: This study aims to identify the characteristics of patients with twin pregnancies at RSUP H. Adam Malik and Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital during the period of 2022–2025. Methods: This research employed a retrospective descriptive design with a quantitative approach. Data were obtained from the medical records of 72 patients with twin pregnancies at RSUP H. Adam Malik and Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital during the period of 2022–2025. Descriptive analysis was conducted to illustrate maternal characteristics, neonatal characteristics, interventions, and complications observed. Results: The findings showed that the majority of patients with twin pregnancies were in the age group of 21–34 years and had multiparous status. Most of the twins delivered had the same sex, were born prematurely, and had low birth weight. Common interventions included pharmacological therapy, ultrasound examinations, NICU management, and resuscitation. Conclusion: Twin pregnancies in both hospitals were more commonly found among mothers aged 21–34 years with multiparous status, with infants generally delivered at preterm gestational age. Ultrasound monitoring and pharmacological therapy were the primary maternal interventions, while neonatal resuscitation and NICU management played key roles in the care of twins.
