Hubungan Usia Ibu dengan Usia Gestasi di Rumah Sakit Umum Pusat Haji Adam Malik Periode Juli 2011-Juni 2012

Abstract

Process experienced by each woman’s pregnancy will cause physical and psychological changes. Planned or not, expectant mothers need to prepare themselves psychologically from before, during, and after pregnancy. Pregnant at an older age or >35 years old is a risk factor for disorders for both mother and fetus which at that age is a state of health and function of reproductive organs that function decreases the chances of pregnancy and labor trouble. But, on the other hand pregnant at young age or < 20 years old was also a risk factor for pregnancy danger to mother or fetus which at that age is a state of health, mental, physical and reproductive functions immature, not ready to get pregnant. This study examined the association of maternal age with gestational age at H Adam Malik Hospital Medan. Design research is a descriptive study with cross-sectional analytic study using a sample of 256 patients. The data is taken with a gestation age and the age of the mother. Data taken were analyzed using chi-square test. From the study can be seen mothers who gave birth the most is the mother from the age group between 20-35 years old with the group just months gestational age as many as 126 people. While the least is the mother form the age group under 20 years old with the group preterm gestations below 37 weeks gestation as 6 patients Correlation of the results that have been obtained that i did not find a relationship between age of mother with gestational age.
