The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is an important effort in preventing work accidents, especially for welding workshop workers who are at high risk of various occupational hazards. This study aims to determine the factors related to compliance with the use of PPE among welding workshop workers at CV. Putra Harapan, Tanjung Balai City. This study uses a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The population of this study was all 34 welding workshop workers, data collection was conducted through structured interviews and observations. The dependent variable in this study was compliance with the use of PPE, while the independent variables included knowledge, availability of PPE, and sanctions. The results showed that most workers had a very low level of knowledge, namely 21 workers (61,8%), low knowledge 2 workers (5,9%), and moderate knowledge 11 workers (32,4%). The availability of PPE was also classified as inadequate in 28 workers (82,4%), while 6 workers (17,6%) stated that PPE was quite adequate. Regarding the sanctions variable, 26 workers (76,5%) assessed the implementation of sanctions as inadequate and ineffective, while 5 workers (14,7%) considered the implementation of sanctions to be inadequate and ineffective. Based on the Spearman statistical test, there was a significant relationship between knowledge (p<0,001), availability of PPE (p<0,001), and sanctions (p<0,001) and compliance with PPE use. The results of this study are expected to encourage CV Putra Harapan to increase the provision of adequate PPE, improve its monitoring system, and implement sanctions firmly and consistently to improve worker compliance with PPE use.
