This study examines the effect of interpersonal communication on intimacy in individuals undergoing long-distance marriages (LDM), with love language as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative correlational design, data were collected from 233 participants through the Interpersonal Communication Inventory (ICI), Personal Assessment of Intimacy in Relationships (PAIR), and a modified Five Love Language Scale for the LDM context. Data were analyzed using PLS-SEM with bootstrapping in SmartPLS. The results showed that interpersonal communication had a very significant effect on intimacy (original sample = .957). All love language dimensions significantly mediated this relationship (t > 1.96; p < .05), with Physical Touch as the strongest mediator (.364), followed by Words of Affirmation (.220), Quality Time (.195), Receiving Gifts (.129), and Acts of Service (.057). These findings highlight the role of interpersonal communication and love languages in maintaining intimacy among long-distance couples, with implications for marriage counseling and psychological interventions.en_US
