Alpha-Terpineol is a monoterpene alcohol compound derived from essential oils, mainly from turpentine (pine sap). Alpha-Terpineol is a chemical used as an ingredient in cosmetics, soaps, perfumes, and disinfectants, and is considered one of the most commonly used fragrances. The preliminary design of the Alfa-Terpineol manufacturing plant from pine sap is designed with a production capacity of 7,000 tons/year and operates 330 days a year. The production process involves three stages, namely: pretreatment stage, product formation stage, and product separation and storage stage. The factory is planned to be located on Jl. A. Yani, Toboyo, Tosari, Brangsong District, Kendal Regency, Central Java Province, with a land area of 14,404 m2. It will require 183 workers and will be organized as a limited liability company (PT) with a line and staff organizational structure. The economic evaluation shows a capital investment (CI) of Rp. 301.416.850.584, total production costs of Rp.150.740.543.906, sales profit of Rp. 263.992.048.311, and net profit of Rp. 83.919.364.764. This factory is projected to reach the break-even point (BEP) at 47,97% capacity with a return on investment (POT) of 3 years and 6 months. Based on the results of the economic analysis, the preliminary design of this factory is considered feasible to be established.
