| dc.description.abstract | Rehabilitation programs in reducing the level of criminal violence at Tanjung Gusta Prison in Medan using a criminal law approach. The background of this research is based on the high level of violence in Indonesia, one of the causes of which is drug use. Drug users in Tanjung Gusta Prison are nearly dominant, indicating the need to analyze and evaluate the impact of rehabilitation programs on changes in the behavior of inmates, particularly in the context of reducing violent actions and enhancing social skills through a criminal law approach to create a safer and more supportive environment for inmates. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The respondents consist of inmates and prison officers. The results of the study indicate that the rehabilitation programs implemented, including education, skills training, and psychological counseling, significantly contribute to positive changes in attitudes and behaviors, reducing violent behavior among inmates. However, there are several challenges, such as a lack of resources, facilities, and limited funding. The conclusion of this study is that although rehabilitation programs show effectiveness in reducing criminal violence, improvements in implementation and systemic support are needed to achieve optimal results. This research is expected to provide recommendations for the development of better rehabilitation policies at Tanjung Gusta Prison and other correctional institutions. | en_US |
